Jonathan Richman featuring Tommy Larkins on Drums w/Ane Diaz
Ane Diaz - Venezuelan Artist & currently lives in Athens. She played mainly songs from her homeland. She was accompanied by an additional vocalist with electric guitar. The set was very quiet and surprisingly the Athens crowd was very attentive. Would like to see her at a smaller venue.
Jonathan Richman - We have seen Jonathan a lot over the years and every time we see him I'm reminded of why we keep coming back. Lots of fun and plenty of crowd singalongs. So glad we drove up on a weeknight to Athens!
Setlist included - I was dancing in the Lesbian bar, Egyptian Reggae, When we refuse to suffer, They showed me the door to Bohemia, People are disgusting, Old World, Van Morrison cover “Crazy Love” which he announced with ‘I don’t know all the lyrics but I’ll make up some of them as we go along’ and he did. :)
