Yo La Tengo

Atlanta, GA: Terminal West
Sold out show. It has been a few years since Yo La Tengo has put out a record and toured extensively. This was an "Evening with" show. No opener - 2 sets.
First set was very quiet from top to bottom. A lot of material from the new LP “There’s a Riot Goin On”.. Ira joked that we should all thank the bartenders because they were not playing at a drink serving volume, he suggested the 2nd would be at a more appropriate level.
The 2nd set, while it was marginally louder, volume didn't seem to go up until halfway through. Some highlights for me: Barnaby Hardly Working, don’t think I’ve heard them play that in years. So good. Also, Sugar Cube both loud and quiet versions. Decora. A quiet version of Tom Courtney with Georgia on vocals. Covers of note - Small Faces ‘What’cha Gonna Do About It” & Sun Ra’s “Somebody’s In Love”
